It is the mission of Human Resources department to advance the overall mission of the District through the acquisition, retention, and support of an excellent faculty and staff. The Human Resources Services achieves its mission by recruiting, employing, retaining, and developing faculty and staff and by maximizing excellent employee relations and excellent personal and group performance through internal consulting, problem resolution, and the provision of efficient, cost-effective, customer-responsive Human Resources department.

The Community:
The area provides a diverse geography that includes recreational lakes, mountains, desert and wide-open spaces. MSJC is located about 100 miles southeast of Los Angeles and 50 miles west of Palm Springs. There is freeway access to ocean beaches, skiing and cultural offerings in San Diego, Los Angeles and Orange County. Weekend recreational opportunities are a few hours away in Las Vegas, Arizona and nearby mountain resorts. Local theater productions and art galleries provide year-round entertainment, including the famous Ramona Festival and Pageant.

Faculty Positions Only - Applicants must submit academic transcripts for all undergraduate and graduate coursework. Degrees must be conferred by the application deadline, with the conferral date clearly listed on the transcript from an accredited institution. Unofficial transcripts are acceptable initially, but successful candidates must provide official, unopened transcripts before employment commences. For transcripts issued outside the U.S., an official U.S. clearing house evaluation report with translation is required; please refer to the Foreign Transcript Tips for more information.
NOTE: The minimum qualifications for faculty and administrators at California Community Colleges are set by the Chancellor's Office. Applicants who do not meet the minimum qualifications to teach in a desired discipline (or may not yet have a conferred degree) but feel that they possess the equivalent of qualifications, may apply for Academic Equivalency. Applicants who claim equivalent qualifications shall provide clear and conclusive evidence that they possess qualifications that are at least equivalent to the minimum qualifications. DOJ Livescan & TB Test:
As a condition of employment candidates will be required to complete a live scan for fingerprint clearance and a Tuberculosis (TB) test/Tuberculosis Risk Assessment form developed by the State Department of Public Health. Candidates must have an insurable driver's record.
Official Transcripts:
If hired, (applicable to the position), the successful candidates must provide official, unopened transcripts prior to employment commencement.
Residency Requirement:
Mt San Jacinto Community College District Board Policy 7820 requires all administrators, full-time and part-time faculty, and classified staff including temporary/hourly short-term employees to maintain and permanently reside in a principal place of residence in the state of California that is within two hundred (200) road miles from the employee's regularly assigned district worksite. The purpose of the policy is to promote efficiency and continuity throughout all campus administrative functions, provide students with high-quality assistance and accessibility to all academic and campus services, ensure that students receive an engaging education, and respond to emerging student needs. The District may consider an individual request to temporarily reside outside of the State of California or outside the two-hundred (200) mile limit on a case-by-case basis, not to exceed twelve (12) consecutive months.
Fair Chance Act:
Mt. San Jacinto Community College will consider qualified applicants with a criminal history pursuant to the California Fair Chance Act. You do not need to disclose your criminal history or participate in a background check until a conditional job offer is made to you. After making a conditional offer and running a background check, if Mt. San Jacinto Community College is concerned about conviction that is directly related to the job, you will be given the chance to explain the circumstances surrounding the conviction, provide mitigating evidence, or challenge the accuracy of the background report.
